Hat and cap size chart
How do I find the right hat size?
To determine your size for a cap, hat or hat, follow these steps:
- Use a tape measure and a mirror.
- Place the tape measure against the back of your head.
- Pull this forward, slightly above your ears and eyebrows, to the middle of your forehead.
- Read the size in the mirror.
- Round the length up (for example from 57.5 to 58 cm).
- For a deeper fit, add 1 cm.
- Ladies, comb your hair back before measuring.
If you don't have a tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a ruler. Round the length to the next round number. A hat that is too small can cause headaches, so make sure you get the right size. A hat that is too big can be adjusted with two cork strips. For oblong heads: place the cork strips on the side behind the lining band. For rounder heads: place the cork strips on the back behind the lining band.

On The English Hatter webshop you will find the models that are available in individual centimetres (e.g. 58 cm). Other models, on the other hand, are only available in combined sizes (e.g. L/58-59 cm). The sizes of men's hats vary greatly, but hats for women are usually produced in standard sizes.
